Certified women/minority owned businesses can earn lucrative contracts with the government.

What is the Government looking for? 

The government is looking to purchase all kinds of goods and services. Here is just a sample of some of the needs to be filled:

  • Food (catering in particular)
  • Clothing
  • Social workers
  • Hair stylists
  • Mental health specialists
  • Jewelry makers

What you will get out of this course:

  • An understanding of eligibility requirements
  • What qualifies a business as women/minority owned
  • A basic introduction to government contracts
  • How women and minority enterprises can benefit

Course Description:

Join the State of Rhode Island, Department of Administration, Office of Diversity, Equity and Opportunity, the Center for Women & Enterprise, and the Rhode Island Small Business Administration for an exploration into the benefits of doing business as a certified Women Owned Enterprise or Minority Business Enterprise. It is the policy of the State of Rhode Island to support the fullest possible participation of firms owned and controlled by minorities and women in the government purchasing of goods and services. This class will help you understand how you can capitalize on these requirements!
