THIS WEEK’S BUY ONE / GIVE ONE MEAL IS: Fish Cake with Noodles and Slivered Carrots by Savory Fare

A lighter and more delicate fish cake with the taste of lobster, summer and the sea is prepared with fresh monkfish and a mix of fresh breadcrumbs, celery, scallions and parsley nested in buttery egg noodles tossed with slivers of carrots.

INGREDIENTS: Fish Cake: Monkfish, bread, egg, celery, scallions, parsley, vegetable oil, salt and pepper. Noodles with Slivered Carrots: egg noodles, carrots, butter, salt and pepper.

ALLERGENS: Fish cake allergens: Fish, Wheat, Egg. Noodles with Slivered Carrots: Wheat, Milk

HOW IT WORKS

The number of meals (“Tickets”) you purchase below will be reserved for you to pick up and enjoy on Wednesday, July 28th between 4 to 7pm in the backyard (during What’s Local Wednesday). For every BOGO meal you purchase and enjoy at home, we will reserve one to distribute for free to our community partners. Please note that each meal is subject to a 7% sales tax + 1% meals tax. Meals are served frozen and ready-to-heat and eat at home.

The “Buy One / Give One” community supported meal share is a part of our Nourish Our Neighbors food assistance program. Nourish Our Neighbors was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to provide free meals and food access resources for our neighbors in a time of need. Since March 2020, we have distributed more than 30,000 meals to East Bay residents.

Beyond feeding people but in uncertain times, Nourish Our Neighbors is preserving and creating jobs, circulating dollars in our local economy, building community and providing HOPE! Meals are sourced as locally as possible and made by our member companies.
