THIS WEEK’S BUY ONE / GIVE ONE MEAL IS:  Layered Eggplant Parmesan by Secrets in the Kitchen

Eggplant Parmesan delicately fried with 10 layers of succulent ingredients including Secrets in the kitchen marinara fresh and local basil , garlic and more.

INGREDIENTS: Eggplant, vegetable oil, seasoned bread crumbs, panko bread crumbs , eggs, marinara sauce ; sub ingredients: Plum tomatoes, tomato paste, crushed tomato , local fresh basil , local fresh garlic, local sea salt, bay leaf, crushed dried red pepper, extra virgin olive oil – parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese , ricotta cheese, parsley, fresh roasted tomato

ALLERGENS: wheat, cheese, eggs, milk

HOW IT WORKS

The number of meals (“Tickets”) you purchase below will be reserved for you to pick up and enjoy on Wednesday, September 1st between 4 to 7pm in the backyard (during What’s Local Wednesday). For every BOGO meal you purchase and enjoy at home, we will reserve one to distribute for free to our community partners. Meals are served frozen and ready-to-heat and eat at home.

The “Buy One / Give One” community supported meal share is a part of our Nourish Our Neighbors food assistance program. Nourish Our Neighbors was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to provide free meals and food access resources for our neighbors in a time of need. Since March 2020, we have distributed more than 30,000 meals to East Bay residents.

Beyond feeding people but in uncertain times, Nourish Our Neighbors is preserving and creating jobs, circulating dollars in our local economy, building community and providing HOPE! Meals are sourced as locally as possible and made by our member companies.
