Nourish Our Neighbors

Feeding local families in a time of need

Our wish is that you are healthy and safe at this fragile and uncertain moment.

The COVID-19 pandemic has hit our community extremely hard, forcing the closure of small businesses and the loss of thousands of jobs — unemployment claims in Rhode Island have now soared to more than 50,000. In the East Bay alone, that crushing statistic means at least 2,000 families have lost their livelihoods. There’s also great concern for hundreds of our vulnerable neighbors that are in painful isolation as well as the brave and selfless individuals serving the community in essential roles.

Hope & Main has remained open since this crisis began, both for food production and as part of the food safety net in Rhode Island. We are determined to support our community through the coming weeks, working to make sure everyone remains healthy and nourished as we endure the impacts of coronavirus….

In response to this urgent need, we’re launching the Nourish Our Neighbors program.

With funding provided through donations, we will provide up to 1,500 meals for the families, children and seniors who are OUR neighbors, OUR friends, and perhaps even part of OUR own families. Your donations will provide prepared meals for those who need them. We will work with a number of our member companies each week to prepare re-heatable, wholesome meals for families and seniors. Distribution of 300 meals per week means we’ll be able to feed families through almost mid-May!

“BUY ONE, GIVE ONE”
COMMUNITY-SUPPORTED MEALSHARE

Eat well and do good! Purchase a Nourish Our Neighbors “Buy One, Give One” meal for yourself for $16 and bring home a freshly prepared dinner made by a Hope & Main member. When you buy your meal, another dinner will be donated to a neighbor that is unable to pay for their own at this time. Menu items vary weekly. Quantities limited. Reservations close on Sundays at 11:59pm.
