Nourish Our Neighbors

Sustaining lives and livelihoods of our neighbors

It takes a community to feed a community.

We launched the Nourish Our Neighbors program in response to the food access crisis brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.  With support from hundreds of donors, dozens of volunteers and highly committed community partners we are working to ensure that local food insecure families and other vulnerable individuals can access wholesome, prepared meals at a time when nutritious food is critical to maintain good health.

BUY ONE / GIVE ONE

Community Supported Meal Share

Purchase a  “Buy One / Give One” single-serving meal for yourself and bring home a freshly prepared dinner made by one of our members. When you buy that meal, another is automatically donated to a neighbor that is unable to pay for their own at this time. Menu items vary weekly. Quantities limited.

These donated meals reach seniors through the Nourish Our Neighbors Program.

A Delicious Way to Support Your Community !

40,000

MEALS DISTRIBUTED SINCE MARCH 2020

Provides vital, supplemental nutrition to vulnerable populations.

Enables continuity for Hope & Main members that would have otherwise been displaced by Covid-19 crisis event and dining restrictions, creating jobs and stabilizing employment in small businesses.

Supports local farms, fisheries and purveyors through procurement of ingredients and packaging for meals.

Follow the journey of how our local fishers helped create the latest Nourish Our Neighbors meal.

Eating With the Ecosystem and the Commercial Fisheries Center of Rhode Island purchased freshly caught Monkfish directly from local dealers and vessels.

Tony’s Seafood helped to process this fish off the boat and get it ready for Hope & Main member Savory Fare to begin cooking.

Savory Fare cooked delicious fish cakes for the Nourish Our Neighbors Program, paired with a comforting portion of buttery noodles and carrots.

The finished meal was distributed all over the State to homebound seniors, clients at three RI Women’s Resource Shelters and to local Bristol and Warren Regional School District families.

Thank you Rupert Whiteley for photographing our first week in operations. We are thankful for good neighbors like you!
